ABOUT KATE
My goal as a director, producer, and dramaturg is to create theatre that contributes more questions than answers, fosters discussion within communities, promotes empathy, and creates ripples of thought and action that extend beyond a performance itself.
I am the Artistic Producer of Noor Theatre, Interim Managing/Literary Producer of Geva Theatre, and a founding board member of the Middle Eastern and North African Theater Makers Alliance (MENATMA). I previously served as the Director of Producing and New Work at Long Wharf Theatre. I have directed and/or developed new work with The Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, The Playwrights Realm, Premiere Stages, The Civilians’ R&D Group, New York Theatre Workshop, NYU Abu Dhabi Institute (NYC), The Amoralists, The Flea, The Shakespeare Society, The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals, and other NYC companies. I have assistant or associate directed with Ibex Theatricals/The New Vic, McCarter Theatre, Clubbed Thumb, Yale Institute for Music Theatre, and The 24 Hour Plays on Broadway.
I graduated cum laude from Yale University with distinction in Theatre Studies and Psychology.
